Product description
In the determination of adipic acid in the product of butadiene hydrocarboxylation by paper chromatography, the resulting spots, which appeared with methyl red, were cut out, dried, and weighed. for standard mixtures with different content of adipic acid, the following data were obtained:
Acid mass, μg: 5 10 15 20
Mass of paper with a stain, cm3: 61 106 146 186
A weighed portion of the analyzed sample m1 = 100 mg was dissolved in V = 10 cm3 of water, and 0.05 cm3 portions of the resulting solution were chromatographed.
The mass of the spots obtained was m2 = 85 mg.
Determine the mass fraction (%) of adipic acid in the analyzed product.
